Santa Clarita Film FestivalFilm is alive in the Santa Clarita Valley this weekend.  Today, Saturday January 8th, and tomorrow, Sunday January 9th, the annual SCV Film Festival is taking place offering film screenings and appearances from professionals and new comers.  In addition there will be films created by students, including junior high school and high school film makers.  The film festival kicked off on Friday evening in Old Town Newhall.

A wonderful aspect of the Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival is that the films being shown are suitable for all ages.  The films allow access to the creativity of those who are new to the business and allow a platform for analysis and great discussion.  The ability to see professional films side by side with those created by students is a unique experience for film buffs in Santa Clarita.

SCV Film Festival Schedule
Films are being shown at the Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main St., Newhall, CA 91321. Daily passes for the festival are $8 for adults and $5 for students/seniors. (Unless otherwise noted, films are appropriate for all audiences and are short films.)
